当時、ペーペーのぼくのところに電話が来るくらいなので、相当な急ぎの仕事であることは間違いなく、折返しの電話を待ってもらえるほど時間的な余裕もないと想像できますしね。
入稿直前で急遽カットが必要になったとか、そんなかんじの仕事が多かったです。

At the time, for them to call a newbie like me, it would inevitably be something of a rush job, so I could imagine there was no leeway, timewise, for them to wait for me to call back. It was when rush cuts or similar became necessary right before sending in the art, a lot of that type of work.
