Refers to Chinese DOTA2 streamer Zard and his "legendary" defensive measure.
During a streaming game, Zard found some enemy spiderlings are quickly mowing down his middle base turret, and announced that he will deal with them all on his own. This heroic act resulted in his death, much to his audiences' surprise. The fact that he was using a ranged hero only adds to the bewilderment.
Simply put, Zard sucks at DOTA2 while claiming to be one of the top casual players, and this is one of the many moments that he made an ass of himself.
