It felt like I was shaving off previous putty, and with more of a flathead screwdriver than a chisel. This stuff was ridiculously hard too.
As for the mock metalwork from yesterday, I think the correct way would've been to weld a slab or something to the outer surface and pull out the dent, but naturally, I don't have the tools for that, so I couldn't do it. It's because the concept was "Get it done cheaper by not adding in too many tools"! :-) About 10 minutes after I started, I figured I'd become a neighborhood nuisance if I kept it up, so I quit.
This has nothing to do with the rest, but in Shadow of the Colossus I can't defeat that one colossus in the cave that you bring down by striking the soles of its feet.
I think he's referring to Basaran, the tortoise-like ninth colossus.
