I'm the only person with two Resident Identity Cards.
This is a meme regarding a series of memetic spamposting mocking the hypocritical and arrogant behavior of Chinese actor Zhang Jinlai. Check translation note in previous post for a detailed story.
This line here is a reference to one of the Sixology quotes:
Yesterday I was trying to board my flight, quite a few airport security personnel checked my ID card and doubted me:"Is this a fake?" I replied:"No, this is real." They then replied:"Isn't your last name Liu, instead of Zhang?"
As a matter of fact, Zhang does have two ID cards: one as Liu Xiao Ling Tong (lit. Six years old child Jr.), one as Zhang Jinlai. Zhang's stage name is much more famous than his real name, and there were many people who'd actually mistaken his stage name for his real name, hence the "last name is Liu" misconception.
Back in the days when Chinese people were using first generation IDs(1984-2013), the identity proving process was simply checking the authenticity of said ID card, further verification required extra steps such as physical contact with higher authorities and database administrators. In Zhang's case, since his name on the ID card didn't represent the name he is known for, extra verification steps were always required by regulation. In response to this situation, Chinese government issued an extra ID card to Zhang. While the identification number remained the same, his name on the card was legally changed to Liu Xiao Ling Tong.
The second generation ID was introduced in 2004, and the first generation ID was officially voided in 2013. The second generation ID contains a built in IC chip for instant database connection; for people like Zhang, a quick swipe on the police terminal can instantly verify his name and stage name. There is no need for two IDs anymore.
Zhang was trying to imply his "two ID status" was some kind of rewarding privilege for his performance achievement, when it was really nothing more but a product of underdeveloped technology. Also, when Zhang proudly presented his two ID cards in an 2013 interview, one of his ID cards (presumably the one with his real name) was already a second generation ID, and the other one was already voided by law. Netizens found this particularly stupid, and added this into the infamous Sixology quotes.
