I wanted to do this one for a long time, but at first I didn't even know what to put on it. Then it came to me and made a draft, but I avoided it as it was a lot of work. But what better excuse to finish it than the new trailer for Avengers Infinity War? This is based on the cover for the Infinity Gauntlet story in the comics, where Thanos possesses the 6 infinity gems and all the heroes of the time try and defeat him. There was a prequel to that where Thanos is looking for the gems and fights the champion of the universe (whom I thought we would see in Thor Ragnarok, but nope) or the super space gardener who has the time stone and uses it to quickly grow his crops and have the best garden in the universe.

Thanos looks like he ought to be a Kirby creation and you wouldn't be too far. He was inspired by DC's Darkseid, who was created by Kirby, admitted by Thanos' creator Jim Starlin. But he has managed to make himself distinguishable from Darkseid. The trailer for the movie looks good, but I liked the leaked comic-con trailer a bit more, as it showed Thanos doing more stuff than punching and it had better pacing, I believe. But hey, as long as the movie is good. Bad movies can have good trailers and good movies can have bad trailers.

In this cover I wanted to focus on Kira as the main bad guy and keep all other away, as I hadn't had a cover with him (how did that happen?), plus now I have a cover with Shigechi. I thought I could have finished it yesterday if I hadn't watched Justice League, but I think not even then I would have been able. About that movie, I'll write my thoughts on it in a different post.
