Well, it's been quite a while since I drew anything touhou related, so here's Medi. Medi is cute (and deadly)
I was initially going to draw Kaguya but I realized that I didn't really like that idea that much... In fact I think I'm going to draw Mokou later instead. RIP Kaguya. Oh wait...
...by the way, there's someone hidden in the background (near the thing that's related to the characters I just mentioned)
I've been working on this at a relaxed pace and was mostly focusing on practice sketches and studies, but still expected to finish much earlier than I actually did - I even had to rush in the end to make it before May ended... I greatly underestimated how much time those damn lilies-of-the-valley would take.
I also did some experiments with shading and I think I'm going to introduce rather radical changes to the way I do it - it's not the look that I want to change though, but rather the methods - my goal is to make it faster, cleaner and more consistent. The trickiest part that I need to properly test first is skin painting, so my next drawing isn't going to have a whole lot of clothing, lol. Well, it's almost summer, so... (now if only the weather was summer-like, negative C temperatures in May aren't fun)
Also, I started logging how much time I spend drawing on 12th May last year using a simple self-made program which counts the time passed while CSP is open and in focus - I always minimize the window when I take a break, so it's time actually spent drawing, without including breaks in-between.
So now I have results for a year: I spent approximately 1163 hours drawing from 12.05.2016 to 12.05.2017, 3 hours and 11 minutes per day on average or 48.5 days if I drew 24/7. I'm pretty happy with that result, considering that in the first year I probably only clocked 600 hours or so. Let's see if I can make that 1500 hours over the next year, hopefully with more finished drawings in less time too.
Oh, and also, April 2017 beat December 2016's record as my most active month ever, by quite a bit (159 hours 33 minutes vs 149 hours 47 minutes - and April is one day shorter!)
