The Battle of Midway [Kancolle Version]
As a history enthusiast I was watching a WW2 documentary the other day about the Battle of Midway, the turning point of the pacific theater of war where the Imperial Japanese Navy lost its strongest carrier fleet. I decided to draw a Kancolle version of the battle featuring Akagi and Kaga since they're the among the carriers that was heavily bombarded (especially Kaga) and eventually sank later that day.
Kaga and Akagi were scuttled (abandoned and intentionally sank by their own fleet) by orders of Admiral Yamamoto since they're damaged beyond repair and they don't want them to end up in American hands. So I actually intended to draw Nowaki and Maikaze at the background crying and reluctantly pointing their guns at Kaga and Akagi since they're one of the ships that fired a torpedo to sink the 2 carriers but I thought it might be too bizarre for a Kancolle illustration so I didn't include them...
