August 17, 1990: A large Neuroi raid/attack near Abu Dhabi is repelled.
August 23, 1990: A large formation of Neuroi invades the Sinai Peninsula.Beginning of the War
While the appearance of the Neuroi had been expected, and preparations for an invasion was made, the impact of the simultaneous appearance of multiple nests and the early/rapid fall of the capital, among other unforeseen circumstances, lead to disarray in the “United Arabian Army,” with many regions becoming isolated. However, thanks to stubborn resistance even by isolated and surrounded units/forces until the end, the multinational allied army was able to establish a stable defensive line by the beginning of the new year.
While Neuroi naval units were primarily deployed to occupy the Rumaila oil fields, these undeveloped forces were unable to stop the fleet of the multinational united force. However, due to the threat posed by the large-scale deployment of sea mines in the Arabian and Mediterranean Seas, naval reinforcements were delayed.
