Hm, the logic for determining whether to show that banner or not is weird. Apparently it won't show up for any posts that were ever deleted even if they were later undeleted. I'm gonna change it show it always shows up for banned posts regardless of anything else.

So the "You have unread mail" notification isn't popping up? Is the number next to My Account still visible? e.g. "My Account (1)" if you have 1 unread dmail.

It is not. The number is not visible, nor is there a notification.

Banned posts are not visible at all to basic/anonymous members. It's like with loli/shota.

Well, before it was because they'd just be deleted, though now it's more "the artist(s) specifically asked not to". Granted, we're uploading people's stuff without asking first, I guess taking that stance now would be silly.
... so wait, now banned posts are behind a paywall. Am I the only one that thinks that's actually worse than having them visible to all by default?

Well I don't really think people upgrade their account specifically to view banned posts.

In the past banned posts were also deleted. Further in the past banning did not exist at all and banned posts were just deleted, and at this point in time basic members could not view deleted posts.
So the exact method has changed, but viewing banned posts has always been limited to Gold+ as far as I'm aware.

I just got a sort of inverse problem: I have a persistent "You have unread mail" notice, and there's a corroborating "(1)" next the "My Account" link at the top of the screen, and by the "Messages" link on my profile page. However, said unread message isn't turning up on my Messages page. I did have two new messages arrive just before this notification, but I read them both. I don't know if there's an actual unread message I can't see, or if this is a false positive.
