Danbooru 2 upgrade on Feb 16, 2013

Posted under General

If there is someone with all positives who did irreparable damage, they should probably receive a negative record.

That said, I'm not really for this feature either. It doesn't seem necessary and Albert just added it because people were bugging him to.

You can only change your username if you don't have any negative feedback, by the way.

It's still a bad idea. A troll could pose as other users to cause havoc.

They can look at the profile page and see its lies.

Something appears to be causing artist, copyright, and character tags to be changed to general every time I edit something. They have to be prefixed in order to stay the same.

Well, that's one hell of a bug. I submitted an issue, let's hope Albert fixes it before too much damage is done.

A username history on their profile might help with name changes.

Another bugaboo is that empty tags on the tags page aren't hidden automatically anymore.

That said I'd really appreciate if some of you can calm down, gain some perspective and stop hyperventilating. This isn't the final version by any means. Platinum Account, whatever to that, but these various other, relatively minor and easily fixable things will be tweaked and ironed out eventually.

Really, some of the attitudes here don't help. If you want things fixed, keep visiting the site, look for what you don't like or needs fixing and calmly describe what's wrong with this and that.

Having to check the profile to make sure it's the real person is an extra task and not everyone will do it. This can and probably will create problems.

That said - what is the gain of name changing?

...see any response from devs in this thread?

Not to belabour this point too hard, but...all one of them?

Outside of the (quite) rare independent patches from someone else, Albert is it. You can see all commits to master right here:
https://github.com/r888888888/danbooru/commits/master

Please...don't assume there's no response just because he's not spending his time responding to people in this thread when the necessary course of action is pretty clear (i.e. writing code).

It seems to be worked on right now but I want to leave a note on this just so we don't miss information:

Large portions of tag edits IDs appear to have been shuffled, breaking the chronological order in user and post tag histories, in turn causing the site to read changes wrong (showing tag deletions that in fact never happened and such).
Example: post #942648 (jxh was also previously appearing on the bottom as if he was the uploader).

Now it seems albert is currently resorting the post tag histories by date instead of IDs, and I'm not sure why since the IDs appear to be the actual problem. Anyone scrolling down their user tag history should see time shifts here and there. Example with mine.

Did editing tag attributes move somewhere else, or is it disabled?

inubashiri_momiji got changed to a gentag somehow.

Edit: I may be late to the party. There are multiple other chartags that are now gentags.

There was a bug for a few minutes where all tags that were updated changed to general tags. It should be fixed now, so if you see any that are still general just change them and they'll be fixed.

On a related note, I can't seem to turn the touhou tag back into a copyright. It was one just a second ago, but now it's staying general. Not having that problem with any other tags, though.

Got it, I'll be on the lookout then. My original question was "how the heck do I edit tags" but I figured it out

Edit: Actually, I'm going to rescind that whole figuring it out thing. So, I go to the Tags tab, which brings me to this page. Clicking a tag performs an image search, question mark performs a wiki search. Clicking anywhere else in the cell does nothing. Post count is not a link. No edit option in sub-menu.

How the heck do I edit tags?

Updated

Looks like usernames in another post's quote box don't change along with the username. People might start agreeing (or arguing) with themselves, with no way of seeing who originally posted what message, unless it's tracked by IP somewhere.

Tag attributes, I mean. I can't word this early in the morning. As far as changing a gentag to a chartag, I'm completely lost.

Type character:xxx in the tag box to change tag xxx to a chartag. Copyright:xxx, artist:xxx and general:xxx work the same.
