They most likely meant check the artist's pixiv, not check danbooru to see if a better version existed already. You could've been the one to upload the pixiv version.
Any reason this got deleted?
Also for this; The post in question has no jpeg artifacts when I compared it with the parent post. Did it got overlooked?

That was me. You got 1upped, if you want to avoid that, you have to check if the artist posts on other platforms like Pixiv within 3 days of posting on Twitter.
EDIT: What Talulah said is valid, but generalizing, I think you can avoid that if you notice the artist posts .pngs so soon.

The Twitter version was posted two hours before the pixiv version was even available. There isn't any avoiding that, your just have to pray for an approver to approve it in time (or avoid uploading from Twitter as a restricted user, which is also shit).
