This is becoming ridiculous. How hard is it to get a full deck of cards approved? I've included all the necessary information. This should be bam, bam, bam, done. There is nothing complicated or out of the ordinary in this.

Approvers still have to think it's good enough. Just because the other variants are approved doesn't mean you get an instant approval. Especially if those images are 13 years old.

@Nacha If they read the linked post in the appeal, it describes how the clean versions have already been approved. To reitterate, I made the cleaned versions. I think I may have an idea or two about whether the source scans should also be preserved. As far as whether they should supersede the versions from 13 years ago, there's no question, it would be very apparent to most people that the new versions are superior.

I wouldn't say the ones from 13 years ago should be replaced however, as they represent a tidbit of danbooru's early days and that era in general.

Like I said, this is going on two weeks now to get a deck of cards uploaded.

You really need to stop bitching in this thread. Uploading some mediocre scans of shit that was approved a decade ago by someone who was demoted from approver years ago was a fault of your own making.

Is there a problem with uploading official preview art?

These were already uploaded a year ago from the old server: post #5085929 and post #5085934. I don't see much value in having two of the same promotional arts just because the background is different.

Please check them. Anything implies poor quality?

The whole body just looks kind of wrong. The way the torso bends just looks kinda unnatural.

it's from banned artist, so it's not about quality

Please do not reply in this thread when you do not know what you are talking about.

Different source, Different background, removal of event insignia + the Stat sheet. You're saying that doesn't provide enough value for you?

No. Especially not when someone is likely just going to upload the actual sprite itself. Suddenly we have four versions of the same image for no good reason.

I was improving an existing set. They're scans of an official GAINAX product and they're not only the best on the net, they're what all the lossy compressed versions around were derived from. Leaving it as is or having only part of the set approved is accepting mediocrity. It's been resolved anyway. If it was just a one off scan that wasn't a key part of something else, or a single image, I wouldn't be so apt to bother to that extent.

Sorry for another post in this thread, I actually wasn't planning to post here so soon again, but then I came across stuff like post #6121537. This looks like a low-effort scribble that could've been drawn by a child, and yet it has been approved. You cannot possibly convince me that a picture like this has higher quality than e.g. post #6110802, which didn't get approved.

If this is taken as the baseline for quality, then nearly everything should be accepted on this site, and this thread right here would be pointless. I'm not sure if the moderators of Danbooru are aware of this, but I would highly recommend to reconsider who has the right to freely upload or approve posts. Assigning those rights to more qualified people could potentially solve some of the issues raised by uploaders in this thread.

I would argue to either disallow low-quality posts like the one above, or not reject other higher quality posts even if they're not perfectly drawn. I am OK with having some of my uploads rejected if it means that the site keeps the highest quality standards, but I'm not OK with double-standards where low-quality posts are accepted if they're uploaded by more privileged members.

But it has higher quality, that "coud've been drawn by a child" is far more consistent than your example.

That's a surprising take, please do elaborate. Consistent in what regard? I'm trying to look at the overall picture quality. Some of my thoughts about post #6121537:
- Lines don't match or overlap in various places. It looks like a sloppy sketch.
- There's no attention to details, e.g. the eyes are just two (overly long) lines, there's no nose, mouth, eyelashes, the hair has no texture.
- The body proportions look way off, e.g. the neck is too thin, the legs look like sticks too, and the head looks huge.
- Shading and coloring is extremely basic, the picture looks nearly two-dimensional.

Overall, it seems like very little effort went into the picture, maybe it was drawn in a couple of minutes? I'm not an artist, so just my guess. Regarding my example for a higher quality picture (post #6110802), I'm certain that far more effort went into it, I would guess at least an hour or two. In my eyes, it appears to be higher quality in virtually every regard.

This isn't the place to compare images. You won't get your image approved over complaining about another image. Approvers don't compare images when approving. Something being sketchy and cute can have more value to one approver while the other prefers images like your upload. Something can also just be missed in the approval process, like your upload which was approved now.
If you think that the site is having a problem with quality standards, you need to open another topic for that.
