Artist alias request thread

izumi_beru -> izumi_bell
2 entries for the same artist and Izumi Bell is the name he writes everywhere.

tom (pixiv200709) -> hie
Reason: He generally goes by that name on both pixiv and nicovideo.

Hie is way too short. Hie_(tom) would be more acceptable.

ippus -> na_young_lee
Real name.

matsubara_tatsu -> matsubara_ryuu: Name listed as "松原リュウ" on blog and Pixiv.
kou_(rall2) -> kunai_uri: Same person (くない瓜).

frederiq -> tsubameyado (and I've seen her during a convention today Christ this art is impressive)

junyou_maru -> jun'you_maru.
Reason: Correct romanization of じゅんようまる.

youki_aki -> yuuki_akira
Reason: His old profile page.

umi_niwatori -> sea_chicken? The readings しーちきん and シーチキン are given on Erogamescape and his homepage says "海鶏（しーちきん）". Also Pixiv profile says "”うみにわとり”ではなく、”しーちきん”。" It's silly, but he's consistent.

Reason: his name is 七六 or ななろく. And the artist originally tagged as nanaroku has moved to 76_(nanaroku).

I don't understand the use of this thread as anyone can update aliases in the "wiki" or "artist" section. Also why is there an "artist" section if the "wiki" one includes artists ? I probably sound stupid but just trying to figure things out in order to be a more competent member.
I know the form is different in each section but shouldn't people stop updating the wiki for artists info then ? Maybe they feel they lack recognition because the "artist" edits don't appear in their stats or something ? Anyway I think as a rule people should use the artist section to post artist related information, including aliases.

Uhh, no, only admins can make aliases.

The purpose of the artist database is to find artist names by the URL of an uploaded post, and if people were to post artist alias suggestions in the artist database it'd be really hard for admins to see the suggestions.

Oh I get it, I thought aliases and "other names" in the artist section was considered the same thing. Actually aliases are a form of tag implication right ? Thanks for clearing that up.

They're related. An implication X → Y means that if somebody tags with X, Y will always be added as well, whereas an alias X → Y means every time someone tags with (or searches for) X, Y will be substituted instead.
