AI-generated art check thread

Posted under General

There needs to be some software to accurately tell something is ai.
It's so fucking sad how many scammers I've come across recently and how obvious it is, and it's especially sad how many retweets and likes they get ( and most of them also have Patreons or take commissions... ).

If you do this you're so fucking pathetic it's hard to put into words, you know damn well why you're not disclosing the use of ai and it's just sad.

I sincerely hope and believe we will get actual legislation dealing with it before getting a program to reliably tell AI art apart from non-AI. because building a working program that actually can detect AI art outside of image metadata is much easier said than done, and i'm not sure it's even possible to get it working faster than AI-art programs (or scammers' methods to hide it) are evolving

https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/6092009 - so, it's okay to generate fully artifacted AI, say that it's not AI-gen and it was only used to finish (lmao) and that's it?

The artist claims that they started drawing the picture, threw it into an AI program on a whim to refine it, and then manually retouched it again after the fact. Given that this is the second time this post has been brought up, what is your evidence that this did not happen?

More ai.

As I point out in the comment on the post, the artist in question admits to using ai here https://twitter.com/mikemono_yuu/status/1624445733905788928

Multi-million dollar movies get laughed at when even the tiniest special effect looks fake, but people who use these A.I generators don't feel an ounce of embarrassment when it produces mangled hands or melting clothing? And then they have the nerve to uploads hundreds of the same uncanny valley images a day?

Strange world we live in when this technology is being hailed as "progress" instead of lowering art standards on an industrialized scale...

It's sad to see how many more artists are using it now.. It genuinely just looks like they threw a filter over their work it homogenizes art so much...
Stable Diffusion has a tendency to make things look airbrushed to death and there's something unnaturaly '' clean '' about how it looks.
It doesn't even look good after a while imo it loses its appeal so quickly.

looks like only the man in the background was manually painted, it's the only thing that looks consistent with the artist's pre-AI works anyway

Actually the artist stated that the man was THE element that they did not paint.

i have a reaaally hard time believing this

Was going to say the hands on the man look completely fucked so he must be AI, but looking over the artist's works it looks like they're also shit at drawing hands so I'm not sure.
Regardless the parts of the image don't mesh well together.

they look less fucked than they just look like they're still in the sketch phase while the rest is more polished in comparison

Well that wasn't my opinion, I was just telling what the artist said in the commentary as all previous mentions of it weren't very accurate. The artist states that they "Didn't want to go with a thick painting art style at first, but got curious and threw the man into AI to see if it could add some completeness to the coloring. The results was pretty good. At the end I spent a lot of effort to make the girl's style consistent with the man's." Which suggests that the man was done by AI and the girl wasn't.
I agree that it feels like the exact opposite, the girl looks like classic novel ai's shiny shading and the man is more "authentic". Could they be lying? I donno. Just giving everyone a better idea of the commentary.

I was going to upload some DB arts by this artist: https://www.pixiv.net/en/users/2998772
First two uploads are from 2018, only started to upload again and more prominently in february 2023. The arts look good but I see signs that it could possibly be Ai-Generated and signs that this is not the case. It is also weird that the artist uses three signatures in the art, one that looks handwriting, a twitter username, and a logo. For that, I would like a second opinion if these are or not AI.

It's A.I or being ran through an A.I filter

Right hand is completely mangled, the left hand has melting fingers, the eyes have the inconsistent rendering that A.I is known for.

Another example from his gallery, where the eyes are rendered wonky that not even beginner human artists would ever paint stuff like this.
