create alias hoederer_(courtyard_of_contemplation)_(arknights) -> hoederer_(courtyard_of_neka)_(arknights)
create alias medjedtyti_(arknights) -> medjehtiqedti_(arknights)

I changed these from renames to aliases.

I also don't like these implication chains like Solo Around the World -> Amiya (Medic) -> Amiya. Her Medic form may be a different unit in the game, and it may get its own skins, but there's nothing visually different about the Solo Around the World skin that identifies it as a Amiya (Medic) skin and that sets it apart from her other skins. I think Medic should be for her default Medic skin and any skins it get should imply the base Amiya tag. Same goes for other Arknights characters with alternate classes.

On the note of tags for popular "unofficial" outfits, there's a swimsuit W from liduke: post #7756819
I've seen it being drawn a lot over the years. Is it worth a tag?

Yes, that's what outfit tags are meant for, when there's some popular outfit but you can't find it because there's no tag for it, and you can't even find out where it came from because there's no wiki about it.

While I find this opinion somewhat agreeable, I believe that the current system is the best one for several reasons:

1. Shouldn't this argument apply more to alternate operators with the same class of their respective base character? After all, their equipment is mostly unchanged and their main distinguishing feature would be their apparent maturity/age. For example Kroos and Kroos the Keen Glint.

2. Some alters and their outfits are clearly distinct from the main operator. Take for example Ch'en the Holungday and her skin Ten Thousand Mountains, in which she wields a gun and not a sword.

3. The current system is the same one used for alters from the Fate franchise. While you could argue that the ones from Arknights are not "proper alters", as in characters from different universes/timelines with vastly different features, there is one that fits this description: Skadi the Corrupting Heart. Should she be exempt from the system change?

4. Logistically, the alternate operator's tag would still need to be used for any post featuring their skins. The end result would be the same (but with the additional trouble of having to check all of these posts and making sure that they are properly tagged).

Updated

Let me put it this way. Two chartags for a single character is tolerable. Three tags is really pushing it. We should be trying to avoid Fate disease, where posts get three or even four tags for a single character, not replicating it.

It's common in gacha games for characters to have alternate versions that are treated as separate playable units, but just because something is treated as a separate unit in-game doesn't mean our tagging needs to reflect that. A lot of times these alternate versions are just glorified skins for our purposes.

2. Some alters and their outfits are clearly distinct from the main operator. Take for example Ch'en the Holungday and her skin Ten Thousand Mountains, in which she wields a gun and not a sword.

When I look at the posts under Ten Thousand Mountains and Ageless Afterglow, I don't see why one gets 3 chartags and the other gets 2. They're both just skins for Ch'en to me. One may be for the Sniper class and the other may be for the Guard class, but what difference does that make for tagging purposes?

While some of them aren't all that different (Ch'en, for example, as you brought up), in various cases the alternate versions aren't just a different unit in terms of gameplay, they're also an older or otherwise different version of a character (as in more different than just 'other clothes and weapon'), like Kroos, Fang, Skadi, etc; so I think overall it makes sense to have the costume imply the alter it's a costume for, rather that the base form - and just do that across the board for consistency.
Besides, Arknights is pretty much guaranteed to only ever go up to three "nested" implications at its furthest, unlike Fate and its Character Alter Lily Santa Alter Swimsuit Costume kinda deal. Character, character alter, costume for alter is 99% likely the furthest it's ever going to go.

BUR #36451 is pending approval.

create implication hibiscus_the_purifier_(romance_overflow)_(arknights) -> hibiscus_the_purifier_(arknights)
create implication nightmare_(the_ferry_girl)_(arknights) -> nightmare_(arknights)
create implication quartz_(cover_mercenary)_(arknights) -> quartz_(arknights)
create implication harold_(inviting_snow)_(arknights) -> harold_(arknights)
create implication diamante_(sun_slant)_(arknights) -> diamante_(arknights)

New batch of skins released + 2 others that I missed previously.

I will update the BUR if the upcoming event on the English server renames some of the older outfits.
