So at the end of the day, even though H-stuff is allowed to be uploaded...Not many people here care for such things...Then mind telling me whats up with all those odd ad's we have on this site? 0_o;;;

If you have even one porn picture on your site, "clean" ad network won't want to deal with you. Then your only recourse it to use ad systems which do not require clean content, and those are flooded with porn ads.

16 of 32 posts that I've already uploaded weren't approved in 3 days and got deleted with a reason stating "Unapproved for three days". Does that mean that they're bad? Or I should reupload them?

You could try searching far and wide for non-H shots of game cgs that do not have variations of it, as they most likely get accepted most of the time. Or try finding game cgs titles that hadn't been or rarely been uploaded for some time. And you get to be the boss of those tags and nobody would bother you. :D

@jxh2154 - Thanks for the compliment. I never thought mine was anything special and hence always worried whether I'll wake up the next day with them being approved. I'll continue to do my best. ^^

On the other hand, I've started a new tag called bra-ban!. Pretty cute pics they have. I'd like to know who drew them though :O

Ahh, ok! I guess because I never realy looked into that kinda of thing I misunderstood this site's status. ^_^;;

Thanks for the clear up once again LaC!

Plenty of people like explicit stuff. It's just that, well, a lot of it isn't really good. There seems to be a lot more crappy hentai than crappy clean art, proportionally speaking.

what are CGs anyway?

Technically it stands Computer Generated Images, in this context it refers to the event scene images you get in most Visual Novels.
Event meaning not a generic background with a sprite ontop, but a specific "special" scene that has its own graphics, for example the H-scenes.

Would I be correct in assuming that granting full membership is more about trusting people to upload good quality, well tagged images as opposed to rewarding contribution?

I see quite a mix of tagging styles when I look around the site. Is it preferable to only use the most relevant tags or should we be putting in every applicable tag we can think of?

I have been searching and the more i find, more questions arise!
There is no much information about how much material of the same source you can upload
Or if you upload material that only privileged can see you will be able to see your post later

Thanks

If you post explicit images to Danbooru you will not be able to find them via browsing, but when you first post them, you will get the post number. At any time that you have a post number to an image on Danbooru, you can get to it whether or not it's explicit by using that number in the URL.

It's both a reward and a matter of trust, I think. While we could tag every image of Fate_Testarossa with blonde_hair, we generally don't, but it wouldn't be incorrect. I'd actually like someone else's stance on that.

The following is my opinion:

However, you should use the tags that are relevant to the image. For instance, if a girl is wearing thighhighs, but it is not one of the focuses of the image (like you could tell she was wearing them, but 90% of her legs were off the image), you probably wouldn't tag it thighhighs, because when someone else goes looking for it, is that what they really want to find? For instance, I wouldn't tag post #171827 if it wasn't for there being another girl wearing them in the image.

You should be tagging the series, copyright, artist, etc if you know it, physical details (perhaps) and attire if not, especially anything that seems noteworthy about it.

Wouldn't the foreground girl be the penultimate 'focus' of the image? She IS wearing thigh-highs. If I were looking for thigh-highs, I'd want the person that takes up 80% of the image to be wearing them, not someone in the background.

EDIT: For clarification, that is, I'd primarily like for the main character focus to have them.

The only reason I might not tag that thighhighs is that you can barely see them. They're only present a tiny bit at the bottom. I prefer to use the tag when more of the legs are visible in general, but there's certainly no rule written in stone.

I'm just a priviledged user, not a mod, but the way I usually handle that is that if I'm uploading an image, I'll try to tag hair and eye colors. And if I see a barely-tagged (or worse, incorrectly tagged) image while browsing, I'll tend to add such things along with whatever else is relevant. But I don't go out of my way to, for example, tage every image under fate_testarossa with blonde_hair.

Well. I'm triyng to earn the privileged status but I have a problem.
HOW can I upload any image if there are like 150.000 posts and I have 4.000 images?
I can't possibly upload anything.
I'm not trolling or whatever, but I've tried to upload like 50 images (Downloaded from all the internet) and only two of them were accepted.
Can you give me some other advices on how can I get to the privileged status?
I'm trying also to correct every wrong tagging, so don't tell me I'm not trying hard enough...

If you grab most of your images from a few "mainstream" sites, chance are the good ones (and many many bad too) are already on Danbooru!

As you already experienced, it will be very tedious to find amongst your 4000 images, some that are new to this site. I think you should not continue manually in this way.
On the other hand, if you're tech savvy, md5sum and wget is your friend :)

Can you give me some other advices on how can I get to the privileged status?

Honestly, finding new pictures is not hard, providing you seek them at the source, that is visiting websites from japanese artists, doujin circles, etc...
There are thousand of sites referenced from the Artists database, it's a good place to start from if you've no clue about where to discover them yourself.

I'm trying also to correct every wrong tagging, so don't tell me I'm not trying hard enough...

Even if it's not rewarded properly, it's a good thing to do.

I've been granted privileged status 10 days after registration [BTW, thank you Wanchan!]. It was after 80 posts (a handful from my HD, the rest are new images from japanese artists) and adding some artists.

I have yet to invite someone, and my primary reasons to do so will be to reward someone that
- posts new images I like
- posts images that are nicely tagged AND sourced (very important)
- finds new artists, updating the database

You'll perhaps consider those to be high expectations, but those are my personal criterions.

Good luck!
