We decided for some reason to keep pools like this around.

I don't think it was *entirely* redundant. Not all katanas are tagged as such (most of them are just 'sword') and I was only including images (mostly 'solo') of girls.

Actually that could have a use. Think of it as a "mark for deletion" pool.

I know, it was meant somewhat in jest.
What I was getting at was that the pool itself seems to have images in it that should be deleted. Leaving the pool might catch some images that are otherwise missed.
Basically images are added to the pool, the mods take a look and (by the looks of those images) deletes them.
BTW is the unapprove function available to all users or privileged and up?

Regarding pool #1766: We already have the poorly_drawn tag for "badly drawn art", there's no need for a pool.

Supposedly for characters not acting their usual selves, but the ambiguous title, description, and examples don't do it any favors. Overall, I just question its usefulness.

There are two perfectly good tags for such posts:
1. you're_doing_it_wrong
2. many already tagged failure
I personally don't see the point of this. Badass pool is already good enough to cover these: "I am the king" pictures.

don't have the "I am the King" theme to them. Having a pool for images that do is not a bad idea. It's better than going through the whole badass pool to find them, and that's if they've been added. Not every "I am the King" image right now is also in the "Badass" pool. I think the reason why it comes as pointless at first glance is because it doesn't have very many images, it just needs some time to grow, I'll be adding some later to that pool.

While I'm all in favour of wordplay in titles, and the idea isn't necessarily pointless, the way it's described (and used) at the moment is. The stated description would include not only every use of the if_they_mated tag (and half the current contents are already from the Touhou Kids pool), but anything that's not explicitly supported by canon - that is, >99% of all fan works.
It might be possible to make it usable if the description was tightened up a great deal - maybe something like "Popular fan scenarios that were later contradicted by canon events or word-of-god from the creator" - but "popular" is still dangerously subjective. (Not to mention the issues with pairings in any even slightly harem-ish series, at least those that have a definite resolution...)
