Please do so even if it doesn't "help". I don't think there's records tied to your user account of what tag changes you've done but it will improve the quality of the site if you remove bad tags and add good ones, etc.

There's no way for us to know you did it (unless we happen to look at the tag history and see), but tags are the fundamental basis of danbooru's effectiveness, so yes, by all means tag.

Whether it "helps" or not, does the Tag History page on the websitemean it ties to accounts? I've looked at it a few times and it has account names, post numbers, the whole thing.

By the way, that Tag History page is helpful for people learning about how/what to tag posts and such if you're new to it - at least for me it is.

Edit: Oh, I guess the post above this sort of answered my question.

The main question for me would be...how am I supposed to know which NSFW pics in my collection have already been uploaded, since I can't view them with my non-privileged account? Should I just stick to uploading SFW pics until/if I get a privileged account?

Also, it's too bad the database doesn't show the several hundred pics I posted in Danbooru's previous incarnation (with the same username), and just credits them to "Anonymous", but oh well.

Don't worry about it.

Danbooru checks for dupes, and any variation of the same image is good to have because it can be parented together with the original, thus avoiding other people uploading it.

I was wondering how the system checks for dupes, anyways. Is it by filenames, or does it scan the picture to make sure theres not one like it or what?

If I get privileged account, will there still be a limit on how much pictures I can upload? Having to wait is starting to kill me.

No. There is no limit on privileged users. That said, even as a privileged user, flooding is frowned upon.

Really? Are you sure it's not just a matter of posts getting approved quickly? I checked and initially thought you were right due to a couple of posts I'd uploaded just minutes ago showing up...but then I realized they'd already been approved by a mod.

I was just in the middle of clearing the backlog again, so yes some that I approved had been posted only seconds before. That might be why.

But the message "This post is pending moderator approval" was there. Maybe the cache is making weird things, wouldn't be the first time

i tryed to post some stuff just a few mins ago but it said i wasent allowed 2 cause im not a privileged member can somone help me??
+ im helping a bud of mine look for hentai pics for the game hes making for www.newgrounds.com but i cant seem 2 find any here just says "noone here but us chickens" i was told i could come here 2 find kool art 2 draw and awesome pics for any need but o well it appears to me that this site is ment for a certain group of people who consider themselfs friends or w/e

Obviously you didn't read this thread that you replied to or the faq on the process in earning a privileged account. I would answer your question if you didn't spell like my 5 year old cousin.

There are some things that really suck about the Internet, and this is... about five of them.

Anyway, I have a question about invites. Are there any formal rules about inviting people (other than being responsible for them)? Like, if I invited a friend that never contributed anything (well, she actually drew or found quite a lot of the content I posted), that's not against the rules, is it? I'd mostly just want her to have a priv'd account so she can blacklist inappropriate tags.

Also, how are invites gained, just by uploading more stuff or based on a timer or something else?

Then I really hope my uploads can get albert's attention. I'm not much of a chatty person, so I won't get seen much in the forum, so quality uploads are about all I got... unless I can get someone to notice me on IRC :P

No rules. We can invite whoever we want, but obviously it makes sense to, for the most part, invite people who are posting good images or otherwise contributing. And we're not really *responsible* for them, though that depends how you mean it.

Not really, I've done it before, but as a minority of my total invites, and both were, I believe, back when an invite was the only way to see ANY images at all. Just don't make a habit of it with all your invites, that's all.

If you invite someone based on their contributions and they then no longer contribute (has happened to me), that's not something you can forsee and of course you're not responsible for it.

Rather than being truly *responsible* for the person, I think what I meant was that folks use their invites responsibly, I guess (ie. if I invited someone who clearly was a pest on danbooru, that'd be using an invite irresponsibly :D). And I don't think it'll be too out of balance, there's only one person I'd want to invite anyway.
