If uploads give you an extra raffle entry, wouldn't exclusively bot accounts win platinum?
No, uploading a lot of posts won't work by itself because the posts have to pass the approval queue.

I'm sure the mods and admins would be able to identify any bot accounts and disqualify them.
Also, extra raffle entries may improve your odds, but even those with a single entry have a chance to win.

Uploads that pass the queue, if there was a bot that had taste then we wouldn't need builders in the first place.
Someone tell evazion to create that bot please.
I'm gonna make them upload my thousand backlog.
In serious side.
No, if someone try to use bot for uploading, mod will know right away. If mod not active, we have builders who always active checking suspicious activity among users

All I want to do is search for more than two terms at once 😭 why won’t they let me pay them?
Danbooru doesn't have a payment processor right now, so they can't accept any payments. If you'll willing to put in some time, you can contribute to the site to one day reach Builder status or try your luck at the next Platinum raffle.
Who wants to start hedging bets on things that will happen before paying for Gold is available again? You guys should honestly just delete the purchase page at this point and tell people that the only option is becoming builders. I sure do wonder how pixiv manages to host shota and loli content and allow more than 2 tag searches and let people pay for premium... evidently this may as well be pure wizardry!

If you did more research instead of acting like a smartass you would know that Pixiv blocks users with certain countries (like the US) set as their region from seeing loli/shota the same way we block users below a certain account level. They also have restrictions on the monetization of loli/shota content thanks to pressure from processors like Visa and Mastercard. DLsite also had to change a lot of its NSFW tags to very silly sounding alternatives to get around this same problem. Most sites won't even host loli/shota content or equivalents at all and if they do they don't even tag it because they don't want certain people to know it's there. It's almost like this is a problem everyone faces.
But no, everyone else has already magically solved this issue and Danbooru is just incompetent, right?

Yes, you answered your own question. It doesn't take 2 years + to come up with payment alternatives, bottom line. Gelbooru somehow manages to accept payment from people while hosting such contents
inb4 "but le tagging is so bad on gelbooru, the site is so bad!" Yeah the site is not as good to use overall, but somehow they don't have this problem. Somehow...
You also ignored my other comments on other functionality being offered by pixiv like more than 2 tags per search. Let's also talk about how having privacy on this site is treated as a "privileged" functionality. You can't favorite things privately unless you've "earned" the right to do so. That in itself is bizarre and just inherently wrong. Privacy should be a standard, not a privilege.

Yes, by placing porn ads on the page, like so many other imageboards do nowadays. Danbooru is one of the few large imageboards that is still completely ad-free. We might be able to get some more money by allowing ads, but it would definitely worsen the overall experience and make SFW browsing impossible.

Increasing the tag limit means more strain on the server and possibly more expenses for the site owner. Only he is in a position to know whether doing so is worth it. Also, we are entirely volunteer-driven. Pixiv is run by a company, so they would have more resources than us and be better able to afford higher tag limits.
I remember hearing the reason regular users can't have private favorites is because someone abused the system somehow, but I don't know anything beyond that.

At this point just assume payments simply won't be an option going forward. Maybe this might change in the future, but if pornhub has been reduced to taking bitcoin and site owner here doesnt like crypto options then its not gonna be fixable.
Gelbooru sells soap by the way to get around their restrictions, its a strange fundraising method. They also explicitly don't paywall anything, they just sell soap and have ads financing the site instead.
Personally as I mentioned before, I think automatic volunteer tiers should be a thing, like Zerochan. As in you contribute X number of approved images and maintain a certain ratio, then you automatically get gold. Right now the wall to taking purple is really long, took me 10 months to get it, not that many people are that invested in imageboards.

Yet again, if you did more reasearch, you wouldn't need multiple people explaining why you're wrong. Gelbooru doesn't accept direct payments, because it can't just like us. It has horrible porn ads all over the site and sells merchandise to get around the payment processor problem. Pixiv is not owned by a single individual and maintained by volunteers. It is a corporate owned art hosting site, and even if they got dropped by Mastercard and Visa, which they've already made changes to avoid happening, they still have Japanese processors as a backup.

That's kind of what sparked my initial post on this thread. I've eyed this thread for years and it's a sad joke at this point. It's to a point this is no longer a "bug or outage" it's the norm, and will likely continue to be so until the site is no longer maintained. The whole situation is just extremely frustrating, since the only way to obtain perks here is to make it your unpaid part time job (results may vary*) or win the platinum lottery.
I don't get why this thread remains open 2+ years later. It would make more sense to eliminate the menus and any UI mentioning "purchase gold access," make a PSA thread announcing that Gold is no longer an option, and until further notice, any threads discussing Gold access returning will be deleted. Is this really the better approach?

Still no gold almost three years now 4chan of all place's recently got payment processor after years only using crypto.
So three options are the site owner doesn't know what hell he's doing two he would lost a lot money from processor or three this site might be sold. Other sites like kiwi farms talk with community ok every step really makes you think about this site.

Heck, Phase Connect sells coffee, in addition to being a vtuber company.

Sounds like more work and time investment for the site owner. And if they change their mind, build everything again?
Why would threads need to be closed or even deleted? It's not like they stay long on page 1.

Just stay at those kind of sites instead then.

#4: Nothing changes.

Danbooru is solely one man's personal property. He has the final word on anything. If tomorrow he says you must send him a video of you dipping your penis in hot sauce to access NSFW posts nobody can do anything about it. It blows but it is what it is.
Wait you're saying you didn't have to do that??
