Need to fix all the Girls und Panzer school uniform tag wikis

Posted under Tags

I don't know who did it or why, the GuP school uniform tags no longer list all the articles of clothing that make up each individual uniform. All the wiki says for each of them is this: The school uniform for school name here from the series Girls und Panzer. Real helpful.

It's the same with the character tags, they no longer list the unforms the characters wear. I don't know why that stuff was removed from their wikis, but they need to be put back, as going to an image and looking at the tags used doesn't help as not everyone uses the same tags.

The reasons for removing the lists of tags are given in topic #27379. According to the wiki histories, it was evazion himself that removed the lists.

We can embed images in wikis now (topic #26714), so a good representative image of each uniform should be added to each wiki so that they can be more easily identified.

It might still be worthwhile keeping that kind of info in the uniform tag, instead of nuking and simply saying it's the uniform of a specific school. Sometimes evazion goes overboard on how much he cuts, as I recall one time he cut the wiki of a company tag but it was drilled down to an extremely useless degree, more or less the wiki just reading "Is an American company" with no details on at least what they make or type of business they are.

From what I understand, a brief description in paragraph form is okay. Most users in the topic agreed that what we don't want are lists of every single applicable tag. But someone still needs to spend time actually writing the descriptions.

These wikis in particular were prime examples of poorly written tag dumps. For example, the wiki for Saunders military uniform said this:

Saunders military uniform

The military uniform of the Saunders University High School from the series Girls und Panzer.

Clothing parts

Top
Bottom
Legwear
Footwear

See the following characters for more details on their variants.

Which then prompts you to go to the wikis for Alisa and Kay, which said this:

Kay

If you read all that, then read it again and look at the actual tags because the wikis make no sense, then you realize it's just saying "The Saunders military uniform is a brown jacket with star on its shoulder and a pair of shorts. Kay wears hers with denim shorts and thighhighs and Alisa wears hers with loafers." Except instead of saying that in straightforward terms, it says it in the most confusing way possible.

Wikis should not be incomprehensible tag dumps. They should be plain English explanations written for ordinary people to understand. Something along the lines of "The Saunders military uniform is a brown jacket with star on its shoulder" is way easier to understand than a braindump of tags.

At this point if I see a tag dump like this I'm just going to summarily nuke it. There are (or were, before I started cleaning them up) hundreds of wikis written like this and I don't have time to rewrite them all myself. If you can't be bothered to write a comprehensible wiki then I can't be bothered to write one for you.
