Is the Vippaloid tag necessary?

Posted under General

I noticed while uploading UTAU artwork that we have a Vippaloid general tag dating back to 2010. For those who are not familiar with UTAU this is the description of a Vipperloid from UTAU wiki (not the best source, I know).

VIPPERloid, written as VIPPALOID (ビッパロイド) in Japanese, is the colloquial term used to refer to a group of UTAU created by VIPPERs, users of the online community board, 2Channel also known as VIP@2ch.

To put it simply this term refers to joke (and also non-joke) UTAU voicebanks created by the 2ch VIP community. This includes: Kasane Teto, Sukone Tei, Namine Ritsu, Yokune Ruko and... ISIS-chan, yes, she counts.
Now my question is if we really need this tag at all. It only has 26 posts under it at the time of writing this. If we were to tag every post containing a Vipperloid it would be a nightmare, especially considering how popular Kasane Teto has gotten recently compared to a few decades ago. Not to mention her Synthesizer V voicebank, which probably doesn't even classify as a VIP voicebank. The only way this tag could be made useful in my opinion would be if it was used on posts like post #727940 which depict a group of Vipperloid characters instead of just one or two. So should we keep it and use it exclusively for posts like that or is it safe to get rid of it?.

We had similar tags from the old days of Danbooru that have become largely irrelevant and removed now. See Voyakiloid. I don't see any reason to keep Vippaloid either.

Voyakiloid was irrelevant to Danbooru because only two characters (Yowane Haku and Honne Dell) ever had non-deleted posts, effectively making it a padding tag. Vippaloid is a notable group that still gets posts, though, so I don't see any harm in keeping it for group images.
