Hello. Where do I go to 'request' a character tag? "fudo_yusei's_father" for this post (https://danbooru.donmai.us/posts/7806407)
edit: nevermind, it's under 'doctor_fudo'. Perhaps a merge of the tag?

At least that information has been added to the wiki for now
The reason why the father has a "proper name" and the mother does not is because she seemingly does not have an official name other than "Mrs. Fudo" (as seen in this wiki)

If a character is untagged and there is no existing tag for that character, you can create a new one by typing "char:" followed by the character name.
Only admins can merge tags, but you can submit a Bulk Update Request by clicking "Request alias/implication" in the top ribbon and following the instructions. For example, if you wanted to merge these tags, you would type in the large box on top:
alias fudo_yusei's_father -> doctor_fudo
If an admin agrees with the BUR, they will approve it and the tags will be merged.
BUR #28262 has been approved by @nonamethanks.
create alias fudo_yusei's_father -> doctor_fudo
Did not know the character's name initially, may cause some confusion when the tag isnt showing up. + I did quick google search thereafter and corrected it
This seems to be inconsistent, should My Little Pony characters be given character count tags and/or no humans? They're not humanoid, but they're clearly sentient and their genders are usually obvious. It seems odd to not tag something like post #6348259 as 1girl when it features a sentient female character.
I'd assume they'd fall under the "acts human" part of what doesn't count as no humans but sometimes character counters exclude them, and often times they're given both a character counter AND no humans? @-@

The Wiki of the tag no humans is clear about using it to no human or human-like characters are visible in the picture. In this case, the My Little Pony characters, despite their sentient and human-like behavior, they have designs similar to a real-life horse (They walk on all fours, they have horse mane, etc.) so, under this premise, the tag no humans is applicable with My Little Pony characters.

That doesn't answer my question about gender counters though, additionally as I mentioned no humans includes "acts human" in its definition of human-like.
I feel like it's just silly to equate post #7643228 and post #7807237, but I'm not entirely opposed to it, though I would be bothered if in addition they weren't also allowed to have gendered tags. I don't think removing yuri and 2girls from post #6878533 would help anybody, for example, and I was under the impression that these were mutually exclusive with no humans.

Ah, never mind! I forgot we have the tag furry for these kind of situations. Forget what I said before, the My Little Pony characters fall more in the furry tag than in the no humans tag, as they are a group of anthropomorphic horses that act like humans and have a clear and defined gender. Notice that most of the images with the furry tag portrait animals walking in two feet like humans do, however, this is not a requirement, as the only condition to use the furry tag is the representation of anthropomorphic animals; there's of course a longer explanation of how to properly use this tag, but the My Little Pony characters seems to fulfill this requirement without any problem.
They should have counter tags because they are characters in the Danbooru sense. I don't think they're furries though, not being bipedal and what. Consider that there are actual furry posts in my little pony like (nsfw) post #6713769.

What longer explanation? anthropomorphism mentions "humanoid", which I don't think MLP characters are, in the show. I'd give a stronger role to being on 2 legs, than you do. Animals can wear clothes, but don't walk on 2 legs.
post #7783657, post #6348259 -> pony_(animal), no_humans, -furry, -furry_female
post #6878533, post #7418816 -> furry, anthropomorphism (franchises are excluded)
Girls and boys should be tagged either way.

FWIW, anthropomorphism actually does not mean "humanoid", it means applying human characteristics onto nonhumans. By the academic definition, MLP characters are definitely anthropomorphic, but I don't think they should count as furries for our purposes.
Right, I should have cited the wiki "When objects or non-humanoid characters (animals, creatures, non-humanoid robots etc.) are transformed into humans or humanoids.". That's what it says.
thx
@heartcatcher I've undone your horse girl edits, as horse girl explicitly mentions them to be bipedal. (E.g. on post #7797352 dash and fluttershy are horse girls, the rest are not.) I am still not convinced if furry tag should apply to non bipedal my little pony characters. For me they are animals that speak and use tools. The furry wiki is unclear about it.

Fair, it's a kinda grey area. I didn't notice the thing about horse girl, woops. I think no humans and no furry tag is fine for quadruped ones so long as they get character counters.
