Workout Clothes - severely underused, proposed initial update

BUR #15864 has been rejected.

mass update exercise -> workout_clothes

At the time of writing, workout_clothes has like 70 hits, while exercise has nearly 3k
I looked into exercise and 20 pages in have seen like 10 pics that wouldn't have the workout clothes

don't know if there's a good way to reduce the number of false positives (-completely_nude I guess?), but it seems like it'll be less time consuming to do the mass tag update and then remove the tag where it's not actually required. I'll do it myself, even

there's probably a set of other implications/aliases to be done (exercise_clothes -> workout clothes, for example), but in order for those to actually have any merit we should probably actually get the tag where it needs to be first. After this is done I can try and find straggling posts where the clothes are there but the activity isn't

if we want to get rid of the tag too and have people search through more specific tags (sports bra, buruma, etc), I suppose now's as good a time as any, what with so few pictures currently having it

You didn't include the underscore between workout and clothes.

In the first few pages. I also think that stuff like sports bra and gym, gym uniform, ect are more useful tags for finding this stuff. Workout clothes doesnt have a wiki and doesnt seem well-defined right now.

Yeah as mentioned there will inevitably be misses, but atm there are far more hits, which is why I went ahead and suggested it

Not every post tagged exercise features workout_clothes. There are images where characters are exercising in regular clothes and there are also images where characters are exercising nude.

And workout_clothes is a rather ambiguous tag without a wiki. It's probably better to clean it up and alias it to one of the alternatives, or leave it empty with a wiki pointing to those alternatives.

Currently we have sportswear and gym_uniform, and gym_outfit which should be aliased to gym_uniform I suppose.

i'm fine with either solution.

And as mentioned above, yes, I know it'd lead to false positives but those are very much the minority (1 hit every like 3-4 pages), which is why I deemed it worth it to do the update first and then remove workout_clothes from where it didn't belong

I checked exercise myself, it was definitely more than one every few pages. At least 15 posts I wouldn't tag workout clothes in just the first four pages, more depending on how you define it.

Unless we can nail it down to a very specific look, I think "workout clothes" is too ambiguous of a concept. I'm in favor of just nuking it.

You can edit it just fine here. That being said, even barring mistags this would create, I don't see what benefit having two tags with 100% overlap has. At that point just search exercise itself.

The bulk update request #15864 (forum #236596) has been rejected by @evazion.

This can be tagged manually if at all.
