mass update guilty_gear_strive ai:1girl -ai:1boy bridget_(guilty_gear) 1boy solo -penis -bulge -> 1girl -1boy

Family friendly easy solution

Honestly? Yeah, this seems like the best choice here. If it turns out to be incorrect in the long run (which I sincerely doubt) we can just reverse the decision or something, can't we? She even looks feminine and is feminine passing, so I don't see why some people are so angry over this aside from their own personal biases.

Hell, someone even said on that one post: "Unless they magically switch genitals when they changed pronouns..." which... okay? But what the user quoted above can actually help keep stuff organized.

Making the transgirl tag may help, but let's be real here- it's bound to be misused to hell and back. Some people think Astolfo is trans but I'd argue that's far from true. That's why I try to use the otoko_no_ko tags for him. Yes, previous knowledge is somewhat required. Astolfo is a bad example here though, since he's famous for being a trap.

Yeah, as I thought you don't read anything.

I make it short :
-Bridget = Trans. Confirmed and re-confirmed several trimes in official websites, lore and voice lines (and subtext).
-Trans people are the gender they are, which is not defined by genitals (penis, vagina, etc). Thus Bridget should be tagged as girl.
-YES, this is not what has been used on this site for several year now. It doesn't mean it was right. Why is it not right ? Because :
-It hurts people to see a character badly categorized.
-As stated above, being trans make you the gender you are, not the genitals. And MAYBE, we should start thinking about being inclusive even if it might surprise some people at first, we need to talk about WHAT we want for this site to tell. Do we want to be inclusive, friendly and try to do our best to be better humans ? Or do we want to continue with transphobia ?

Have a nice day tho <3

Yes, we're better than everyone else including you because we can compliment each other and not post immature responses to threads where people have already brought up more than enough arguments yet you still disagree for some reason that is totally not biased at all. Glad you've realized that now.

This is something that should have probably been brought up sooner, not only with this character but with others as well.

It seriously comes off like you just want to be transphobic. I'm out.

Saying stuff like this doesn't exactly help either. Now, I will agree that many people on this site have a kinda conservative mindset - but it's easy to ignore and even make light of in the worst of arguments. But name calling doesn't exactly help; and yes, this includes people saying "snowflake." Snowflake isn't a slur though, I can agree with that. Just a petty insult used by a certain group of people typically found in America. Let's not focus on stupid things like this, not accuse people of being transphobic, etc. though.

I will say, maybe don't end every argument with the weird heart thingy and a backhanded compliment? It's only raising tension here, :<

I do agree with most things you said, but at the same time I'm sure many people will disagree. There has to be some happy medium somewhere.

Even if Bridget's situation is unclear, there are still numerous other canon trans characters that any decisions made here could apply to.

I'd be in favor of either reworking transgender or making some sort of trans girl/trans boy tags. I really don't think we need to separate them from the standard gender tags, keep those for physical appearance and let people whine as much as they want that a character is being tagged 1boy because they physically resemble one and it wouldn't make any sense to have them turning up in a 1girl search. If we can tolerate otoko no ko basically being canon tagging, I think we can do the same for trans characters.

Also, if you're just going to meme and attack people and provide nothing productive to the discussion, please leave.

The one argument that has been brought forth that actually makes sense is to tag the character in question as 1girl when they look like a girl, and 1boy when they look like a boy, which I have no issue with. But almost all of the recent posts in this thread are just repeating "it HAS to be how I want it to be because otherwise it's offensive" like a mantra, as if continuosly posting it makes it true, which is getting really annoying.
You're arguing about whether saying that an imaginary anime character with a dick is a boy is offensive, you're not better than anyone else. You certainly have no moral high ground over anyone. We're just a bunch of weebs having internet arguments, get off your high horse.

It's been brought up a dozen times, and never goes anywhere for the exact reason this thread isn't going anywhere. People who have no intention of being reasonable or helpful show up to shit up the whole thread and get mad when no one wants to listen to them because they're being confrontational and rude.

Well, otoko_no_ko has nearly everything to do with appearance, not identity.

But I think just reworking transgender could help a lot. If people wanted to find a transgirl in specific, they could use "transgender 1girl." Having specific gender tags (like 1transgirl) will only complicate things. And if people are actually transphobic or don't wanna see them, they can just add "transgender" to their blacklist.

I literally just joined this argument. Honestly, I think you're on the high horse here. I'm trying to remain neutral because I'm annoyed of this stupid argument, but you're always so weirdly immature when it comes to stuff like this. Try to be a little more open minded: if this situation isn't handled, this argument will only come up over and over again. You're an admin, aren't you? You're meant to listen to every argument and reach a conclusion that you see fit. If we continue to ignore this, you can bet you'll only see these exact same threads next month and the month after as well.

The users in this thread aren't narcissists. You're a weeb having an internet argument right now, aren't you? You are the exact same as us. Being an admin won't change that.

Yeah, you are right and it's true that it doesn't seem right to use the heart even if I think it from the bottom of my heart, sorry about that !
Concerning namecalling... I have mixed feeling about it. Sometimes it surely doesn't help and should be avoided. But I also think that sometime, saying directly to someone that they are transphobic, homophobic or really use any type of discrimination is for the moment the only way I have found to talk to someone about discrimination. Because being subtile doesn't quite work. But I agree with you that it can backfire really hard and I am not okay with this.

I just am a bit biased and angry because this is like the 100th person that just don't read arguments, takes the worst ones and call it a day. And they are almost always the same type of person... which is infuriating but you are right. Thank you for keeping me on track with what I think is better !
So, yeah this time I truly wish you the best, no joke or some hidden meaning, really thank you !

Except transgender 1girl doesn't work if the character isn't tagged as one because it looks nothing like a girl. This shouldn't be appearing in 1girl searches.

I'm just going to say, if you wanna actually participate in this discussion, then do so. Posting pointless replies complimenting one user or attacking another while claiming neutrality isn't helping anyone.

Yeah. I'm annoyed of seeing the exact same thread every month. Ignoring can only get you so far.

But people shouldn't be so confrontational. It is to be expected though, this is such a sensitive topic for some reason. Controversy will always make people get on edge.

I have posted my reply already explaining that otoko_no_ko isn't the same as transgender. Even said I agree that the transgender tag should be added. I'm not even attacking or complimenting anyone, so don't turn that on me.

For this part:

Except transgender 1girl doesn't work if the character isn't tagged as one because it looks nothing like a girl.

That's why the transgender tag would be added. If they blacklist it, images such as the one you sent shouldn't show up.

Okay, so first, sorry because yeah I was rude to you. No hidden meaning or anything, being rude is not the goal.
Now I have a question, what are you not okay with ? (Talking about the fact that incorrect representation does hurt people)

Because even imaginary character hurt people, at a personnal level I feel this, and studies have shown this too. So why do you disagree ?
Because for now, as I understand it, you think that we should first focus on what we see and then other things are less important, is that so ?

I'm kinda okay with the solution to put character into their gender and add a trans tag which can then be blacklisted. Seems nice to me.

There seems to be some misunderstanding about what the tag transgender means. Please read the wiki of it, then discuss it's usage.
From what I understand - some people believe that any character that is canonically transgender gets tagged as transgender, which is wrong. This tag is only used in cases where the transitioning is visible, for example - through "progress" pictures.

We're discussing changing the tag into something that would apply to any transgender character, since it's frequently misused for that anyway.
If we do, I think we could split the old posts off into something else like gender transition.

Yes you are right. So I have a question about this, isn't that too restrictive ? My point of view being there is very few transgender tag.
So... maybe we can change it ? I don't think it will destroy everything that has been posted to this day, what do you think ?

I believe we're discussing changing it? I could be misunderstanding.

Changing the transgender tag to encompass all transgender characters is a bad move, since it would require canon tagging, which is something that is frowned upon.
If you're telling me you would tag post #5574002 as "1girl transgender" then you would be wrong, since there is nothing in that image suggesting that the character is transgender.

Otoko no ko is the same way, canon tagging isn't the devil, it's just preferably avoided.
