Reworking the rating system

  • rating:questionable - Softcore erotica. Simple nudity or near-nudity, but no explicit sex or exposed genitals.
  • rating:explicit - Hardcore erotica. Explicit sex acts, exposed genitals, and bodily fluids.

Wouldn't nudity imply exposed genitals?

Someone can be nude without visible genitalia. post #5368990

Surely nosebleeds and chibi getting beaten up fall under cartoon violence, otherwise post #2793581 would fall under s.

Fully agree, however…

"Violence" only counts as s if it's borderline guro or obvious non-safe for work violence. Think "severed head" or "pile of corpses", […]

Borderline guro, "severed head" and "pile of corpses" won’t count as s under the new rules, I believe.

I am not gonna go thit is really necessary to go though all our uploads and reclass it with the new system? Can't we leave the old uploads as they are and only focus on new uploads?

The bar for changing to rating:g is high anyway, you should at least change is:sfw -rating:g ~no_humans ~scenery ~still_life -breasts -1girl -1boy -1other -multiple_girls -multiple_boys -multiple_others, there probably just a few of them from your uploads waiting to be changed, that shouldn't take long.

I'm more confused about things like bruises or scenes of battle. Is post #3280277 g or s? That's absolutely safe for work even IRL.

I'd rate both those G. The main thing is that guro and really graphic violence shouldn't go under G. Where to draw the line is up for debate.

I am extremely happy with the new system, I have only one minor question, what rating do bunnysuits in general fall under, sensitive?
I mean, maybe and only maybe there are some posts where the bunnysuits are 100% SFW, but in general... I don't know, I have my doubts.

Yeah that makes sense, but calling it just violence is begging for people to be pedantic about it. Imo it should be clarified so that we don't have someone go on a spree moving all kind of vaguely defined violence like slaps and chibi punches as s, because you just know it's going to happen.

But I'm genuinely confused if things like showering now classifies as explicit because the character's pussy is visible.

I should hope not. Lumping any and all genital nudity into the same category as hardcore porn is frankly insane. DeviantArt has a fairly detailed policy describing what is and isn't porn re. exposed genitals, and I don't see why we can't have the same.

If we had a rule to rate images with bodily fluids, spread vulvas, erect penises, sexual contact, close-up shots, etc. as Explicit, but which also leaves Questionable open to non-pornographic nudity like post #1124546, that would make a lot more sense than any blanket "all exposed genitals are Explicit" rule.

EDIT: clarity

Well that's not what you asked, you asked if nudity implied exposed genitals, which it doesn't. Imo your example is E, and always should've been E. That doesn't look like a "subtle" pussy to me.
