Hi there, Sorry about the tagme spam, I'm slowly going through the posts as I tag them, it takes a while to get everything in place.
I'm fairly new to uploading here but play quite a bit of Kancolle, so while I can tag characters pretty accurately, I'm not very good at the other section.
Any help and tips would really be great, thanks!
You should take a look at howto:tag and howto:tag_checklist, it would help you to have more idea on how to tag properly.
Well, I think it's better to start of with the most broad tags that should be always used. Hair lengt, hair color (for monochrome pics this is more or less irrelevant) and some clothing (school uniform, skirt, shirt, jacket) and accessoires (hair ribbons, hair flower or necklaces, bracelets for example. But this page here has some pretty neat infos: https://danbooru.donmai.us/wiki_pages/11292
I'll give it a shot, there's a lot to be filled in with these archives. It's often the obvious tags that I tend to miss (e.g. Tagging Akagi with "muneate" and "yugake", and all her distinctive characteristics is pretty easy to remember, but something simple like "School uniform" is frustratingly missable)
On a side note, while I was looking around, I could only find the low-resolution version of some images like this, any idea how I could get around this problem?
Well, like I said in the comment on one of your uploads: Learn it step by step and don't overdo it :). Observing other uploaders does also help. I can only recommend zeparoh's tagging here since it's very precise and nearly always complete. And yes, that obvious things are missing happens, but that is not a matter to be worried about for now. Now it's that you learn some tags :3.
My advice is to tag less than more if you're unsure how to tag something - someone like me or someone even more picky will take up the slack.
Tag the obvious as Provence said - hair color, hair length, obvious features like height or body features, and clothing if possible. If you don't know what to use, search for other posts for that character like kuudere suggested and see what other tags have been entered and copy them if clicking the wiki entry (the question mark beside the tag) makes sense.
The only time to use tagme, per the howto, is when you know nothing about the picture and searching Google or Danbooru turns up nothing. At that point, you might l probably tag hair color and gender.
Otherwise, per the howto, use the comments to ask for help, or use the appropriate request tag (character_request, copyright_request, etc) and someone will go in. Eventually.
As far as resolution problems, I click on links and then use Open Image to see what resolution the pictures are at before uploading - looking at the file name helps with that too. And always use the bookmarklet - for most image sites, it will usually grab the highest resolution picture.
Hmm, it seems this tag gets around 70-80 new post each week after it's cleared up (during the weekend). Well, it certainly isn't much at all, but 70 posts still take around one hour to clear this thing up, so if someone want's to help reducing during the weekend, i've no complaints :3^^.

Are they all coming from the same uploaders? Or are they for cetain copyrights or for certain artists? If it's the former, then we might want to give them some feedback. If it's the latter, we might want to see if they're missing wikis or aliases that would help them be tagged.

It's pretty random. But comics tend to have a higher tagme chance (well, no miracle, since comics are annoying when it comes to tagging). But copyrights and artists...nope. It goes from KanColle over Touhou to every copyright and original work. And the users are most of the time pretty random, too. But there are certain ones and I already contacted a mod about one user, who in my eyes stands out a bit.

I'd probably suggest posting comments in posts with tagme to let the user and viewers know that tagme is basically unacceptable, especially if they've tagged the copyrights and characters.
Why is tagme unacceptable? I use it occasionally if I'm going through images focusing on something else (eg. adding copyrights/characters) and see something that obviously wants lots more tags added to it.

Tagme is lazy and clutters up searches. I'd much rather see posts undertagged instead. Tagme is something I'd use only if I couldn't figure out a single thing - and even then, I'd be using copyright_request, character_request, and similar whenever possible.
At the very least, you can tag gender in many cases, or obvious things - hair length (or lack of), hair colour, if it's a monochrome picture, or any number of descriptors more useful than tagme.
Tagme doesn't even show up in autocomplete by itself in the general search field - it's always tagme_(character) or tagme_(copyright) as the top search results, which provides the replacement tags I've already mentioned. You have to deliberately use the lowest option of tagme, which strikes me as being intentionally unhelpful.
Especially if you already identified the characters and copyright - at that point, if you choose not to tag everything, I'm fine with that. If you use tagme, then you're being intentionally unhelpful, especially if you're not a new user.
I'd be happy to see that tag go away completely.
Now - doing a search (at time of posting) on tagme shows 13 results, almost all of which had the copyright identified, and all of them had 5+ tags including character and copyright. Only two don't have the copyright, and they may be original art. The rest had enough searching done to identify characters by unique characteristics. There's no reason to use tagme in these 13 examples - they all meet minimum tagging requirements, and in the case of one user, they've been here almost 10 years and have over 100 uploads. They've got no excuse to use tagme.
tagme isn't even for untagged characters or copyrights, though. Anyone using it for that is doing it wrong. It's for when something is under-tagged in general tags. The only reason it's so low down is because of the actions earlier in this thread.
And personally I think it's better to put something to point out "this is an image that needs more tags added" than to just leave it seriously undertagged for months, years or all eternity. It's far from being unhelpful.
About the third paragraph: It doesn't show up in the autocomplete box, because it's now reduced to zero. Before I started it, it was the second highest post starting with the letters ta with around 53k posts.
But I still don't agree with Jarlath here, although what they say is completely true. Well, like I already said: I consider tagme as a learning tag. I mean, when you use it, there is a lack of knowledge about tags or the language if someone is foreign. I happily treat these cases, but then, the users who are using this tag should look through their upload afterwards to look what've been added and learn from it^^. That means: I demand that every picture they upload later can have the tagme, but step by step, their tagging should get better and more complete. That way, I think these users eventually stop using this tag^^.
Well, I thought it was okay to add tagme when there are some parts of the image that you don't know which tag should be used? I added tagme to some of my posts for that exact reason.

Everything with a tagme tag (at this time) had reached at least level 3 - they've tagged characters, copyrights, and enough detail that I can reasonably find the post.
Per the wiki, the tagme tag is not meant to be lazy - and if you've added 13 or so tags already, you're being lazy. You don't use it for microscopic detail as in those posts currently showing tagme.
I don't consider it undertagged once you've gotten to that level with copyright and characters. If the character tag doesn't exist? Create it or add character_request with a comment to request tag creation. And all the current tagme posts have met the criteria for NOT using it.
Damn it, I've managed to triple post did to server slowdown. Can I get help deleting the other two, please?
Looks like the PewPew people are still hammering.
post #2382838 is one such post where they've already met Level 3 (and strayed into level 4)tagging criteria - copyright, characters, unique characteristics, and even pretty specific items have been tagged down to the name of the daikon radish. This is not a post that needs tagme.
post #2382216 is another - copyright, characters, and even copyright specific tags like gamilas have been tagged. It doesn't need tagme - extra tags for the military uniform maybe, but it's at least level 2.
