Well, when your main artist is Fumikane the Perpetually Busy...
This is not chinese text. chinese(simplified): "实" , chinese(traditional):"實", japanese:"実". in this artwork, it is "実", not "实". The stroke order: "实": the fourth stroke and the fifth stroke is dot. "実": the fourth stroke and the fifth stroke is horizontal bar.
Also, based on a Pixiv comment, I think Kogasa's supposed to be a parody of Amuro Ray's father Tem, but I couldn't swear to it.
He absolutely is. It's a parody of the scene where he makes a circuit out of random junk and gives it to Amuro, telling him that it'll upgrade the Gundam's abilities (spoiler: even Amuro can tell that it's random junk and that dear old dad has gone a bit coo-coo).

To elaborate, early in the series Tem Ray get sucked out into space, and for most of the series people thought he died. But then he turns up alive later on, but he's clearly suffered some kind of brain damage from oxygen deprivation since he hands Amuro a box of junk electronics and claims it's a power-up item that will make the Gundam invincible. In the TV series that's the last we see of dear old dad, but the movies unceremoniously kill him off by having him fall down a flight of stairs.
The "power-up item", dubbed the Tem Ray Circuit, actually became a running gag in the Super Robot Wars franchise. It's an equippable that lowers a robot's stats, but also reduces its repair cost to just 10 Credits; it'll often be given to Evangelion Unit 1, since it makes deliberately destroying the Eva to trigger Berserker Mode a viable strategy.
For further trivia on the Tem Ray Circuit: - SRW 30 brought it back as a powerup part, but it's actually just a useful part this time, being a nerfed version of the powerful and rare Haro that you can get quite early, and I think there's the implication that Tem's doing okay in that game's timeline. Still, it's thematic that even the good version of the Circuit is inferior to Amuro's toy ball robot. - If you look at the image, Kogasa's Circuit has "USB1.1" on it. This is a merchandising reference, as Banpresto released a USB 1.1 hub based on the item in 2007. USB 2.0 was the standard by then, so making the hub USB 1.1 on purpose made it outdated junk just like the item it resembles.
There was a comment I remembered someone stating online, so will take it with a grain of salt, but they claimed a friend of theirs worked as a theology professor at one of these Christian colleges. Supposedly his friend was horribly disappointed with students coming into his class, especially from Christian religious schools, because they were incredibly boring to engage with as they seemed to lack anything but the shallowest of interpretations and understanding of religious text.
