It has been announced that Leva will arrive with the Deep Oblivion event. That was announced today, this was posted two days ago. Would that qualify this post for Hilarious in Hindsight? EDIT: I choose to interpret the upvotes as an affirmative, so I'll just go ahead and do the thing.
Added back the artist. Per commentaries on their recent posts, these are derivative works. The artist is learning how to draw by mimicking (or tracing) others' posts, one such being pixiv #126932542 to post #8528645.
Finally I've seen everything: a KTM-5 at Danbooru. Real life location: Cherepovets, Vologda Oblast, Russian Federation. Reference photo source and the car in question.
First bubble here is a joke about a Japanese proverb (or two) that I couldn't really think of a direct adaptation for.
Biten said: You know what they say, even a dog won't eat such-and-such.
"Even a dog won't eat X" is a general idiom meaning that no one ever wants to deal with X. However, it also has a more specific variation, even though the sentence no longer makes much sense by that point: "Even a dog won't eat (want to deal with) a married couple's fighting."
So in the original, Biten implies Enoko (a dog) shouldn't bother thinking too much about it because Saki and Yachie are a married couple fighting.
"Not giving dogs sweets" is by no means a perfect match or even related, but my line of thought went in the direction of trying to think of some other way to a.) imply their fighting is actually romantic in nature, b.) include the dog joke. I think western media also has a bit of a trope about "not fighting in front of the (family) dog", but it's not so recognizable and at the time of writing didn't really feel natural, especially if you try to omit parts of the sentence to be coy about it like Biten is. Plus it feels like it centers Enoko as "the family dog" in a way that kinda distracts from the point.
