zongzi
粽子 / 糉子 (zongzi) or 粽 / 糉 (zong)
Chinese dumplings made of glutinous rice and wrapped in bamboo leaves, may or may not have a filling. It has various regional names and recipes, both sweet and salty ones exist.
Enjoyed on the traditional Chinese holiday Dragon Boat Festival on May 5th of the Lunar calendar.
Its Japanese version is called ちまき (chimaki) and eaten on Japan's Kodomo no Hi on May 5th.
