winchester model 1887
The Winchester Model 1887 is a lever action shotgun designed by John Browning and produced by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company, maker of the famous Winchester rifles. It was one of the first successful repeating shotgun designs, but was done so before the proliferation of smokeless gunpowder, which proved too powerful for the design to contain. In addition, pump action shotguns proved more popular for the new gunpowder mixture, and after the advent of the Winchester Model 1897, interest in the older model quickly waned.
The Model 1887 was saved from relative obscurity, however, by its use in the 1991 movie Terminator 2: Judgment Day, after which the weapon and the distinctive flip maneuver used to rechamber it became cultural icons. In Anime, the Model 1887 is recognized for its use by Tsurugi and Mine in Blue Archive, though even these tend to be done as references themselves to Terminator.
