A 1902 horror short story by English author W. W. Jacobs. In the story, three wishes are granted to the owner of a mummified monkey's paw, but the wishes come with an enormous price for interfering with fate. The story and its theme has spawned many adaptations and variations in novels, stories, movies, plays, and comics.
