oguri cap (racehorse)
Real-life Japanese thoroughbred racehorse, sired by Dancing Cap and inducted into the Japan Racing Association (JRA) Hall of Fame in 1991. Oguri can be considered the most famous racehorse in Japan and was a household name and fan favorite even among people with otherwise zero interest in horse racing.
Oguri has a spotted "dapple grey" coat with visibly darker spots on his rear and flanks. He has a black mane (aging to greyish brown in his later life) and a black tail tipped with brown. There are black "stockings" coloration on both of his hind legs.
The horse was also known under the epithet "The Grey Monster" and had a reputation for having a voracious appetite.
