maestrale (azur lane)
The personification of the Italian destroyer Maestrale (lit. Mistral) in Azur Lane.
Character design by Byulzzi, voiced by Eino Airi.
Appearance
See post #4481261.
In-game, she sports long two-tone hair (mostly white with red inner hair) and red eyes. Her outfit consists of a white dress, green jacket, red armband with the Sardegna Empire emblem printed on it, and a black beret and a black ribbon.
Her rig consists of two 120 mm twin gun mounts and two 533 mm triple torpedo tubes, one gun and torpedo mount on each side. The bridge superstructure is mounted to her back and connects the two sides.
History
In real life, Maestrale was the name ship and lead ship of her class of four destroyers that represented the definitive Italian wartime destroyer design, becoming the basis for the succeeding Oriani- and Soldati-classes. The entire class was grouped together as the 10th Destroyer Division and she saw service in the battles of Calabria and First Sirte.
In January 1943, she was damaged by a mine and was scuttled at her drydock during the armistice in September that year.
