lord kanaloa (racehorse)
Kanmei "Lord" + Kanaloa, sea god in Hawaiian Mythology. His name follows his sire's Hawaiian theming.
Japanese racehorse. Sired by King Kamehameha and foaled by Lady Blossom.
He is Japan's best sprinter of his era, being a double winner of the Sprinters Stakes and, perhaps most importantly, the Hong Kong Sprint, being also Japan's first winner of that race. This is where he obtained his "Dragon King" nickname.
He is also particularly successful in stud, even beyond his sprinter/miler niche, being the sire for Almond Eye (Japan's first winner of 9 G1s on turf) and Panthalassa (Japan's first winner of overseas G1s on turf and dirt). He even got to score his rival (and crush) Curren Chan, siring Curren Moe.
