liberty island (racehorse)
Named after the island where the Statue of Liberty is situated.
Japanese racehorse. Sired by Duramente and foaled by Yankee Rose.
This filly is famous for outright dominating the 2023 Triple Tiara by winning all three races and becoming the seventh Japanese Triple Tiara, the third in five years, following Almond Eye in 2018 and Daring Tact in 2020. Unfortunately, victory became elusive afterwards and any chance she would have broken out of her slump was rendered moot when she fell at the 2025 Queen Elizabeth II Cup in Hong Kong and needed to be euthanized.
She was a bay filly with a star and thin broken stripe marking. She can be easily distinguished by her mane fringe braid, decorated with a pompom of some sort.
In the context of Umamusume, Liberty Island is often drawn together with other Triple Tiara winners as well as her RL sire Duramente, with her racing outfit often making references to the Statue of Liberty or those of her sire.
