la serena de la noche (merryweather)
Original character by Merryweather, AT2. and ironmouse. La Serena de la Noche is an anthropomorphic (and genderbent) representation of El sereno de la noche (lit. "night dew"), the humid outdoor air at night, which in Latin-American folklore is believed to contain "bad air" or "evil spirits" that can cause sickness. This makes Serena a humanoid miasma spirit of the night.
Serena appears as a massively tall Hispanic woman with long dark brown hair and turquoise eyes. She has turquoise teardrop-shaped earrings. She wears a low-cut lace-trimmed black dress (inside colored turquoise) with elbow-length black gloves and high heels. She also wears a black veil and a wide-brimmed black hat (again, inside colored turqoise). Overall she resembles Hasshaku-sama but with a darker color scheme.
Serena also carries a normal-sized (appearing small in her hands) spear with a lantern hanging off near the spear tip. This is a reference to historical sereno nightwatchmen, who were known to also carry a similar style of spear and lantern in Latin America.
