kouzuki oden
Prominent background character from One Piece. Oden was a daimyo of Kuri province of Wano Country and the heir apparent of the Kouzuki Shogunate. He is married to Kouzuki Toki and have two children named Momonosuke and Hiyori.
Oden left Wano with the Whitebeard Pirates in order to partake an adventure outside of his isolated homeland. He would later temporarily joined the Roger Pirates led by Gol D. Roger, who personally asked Oden's captain Edward Newgate to borrow him for his ability to read Poneglyphs, which is crucial for finding the One Piece.
After the Roger Pirates found the One Piece and subsequently disbanded, Oden was usurped and later executed via a conspiracy between Kurozumi Orochi and Kaidou. His execution involving him being boiled in a scathingly hot oil for an hour while holding a platform with his retainers sat on top of it as a part of the deal with Kaidou to spare them was later known as the "Legendary Hour". This particular event impressed the then young Yamato who has since idolized him and adopted masculine identity in order to be an adventurer like him one day.
