kerosene heater
A type of space heater that burns kerosene to generate heat. Traditional models commonly appears as either cylindrical with a wire guard or rectangular with a small can-shaped wick cover inside. Many types of these heaters do not require electricity and make them ideal for places that might not have access to electricity or where electricity could be lost for long periods of time during the winter. They're a common type of space heater in Japan.
These heaters get very hot on the top and are commonly used as stoves, though not all designs are intentionally intended to be used as one.
For tagging purposes this tag should not be used for more modern designs that require electricity to operate, as they may not be visibly distinguishable from some types of electric heaters.
