i-203 (kancolle)

She made an initial appearance in the May page of the 2021 Kancolle Calendar alongside I-47 before being formally introduced into the game through the 2021 Spring Event.

In-game, I-203 does not superficially wear a school swimsuit or even some sort of a wetsuit like the other submarines. Rather, she wears a two-piece nontraditional school swimsuit that exposes her midriff: A dark blue sleeveless crop top with a white sailor collar and a white neckerchief that gradiates to yellow and a short dark blue pencil skirt that conceals the lower half of a school swimsuit. She also wears black elbow gloves that are fingerless and black toeless thigh boots that bear her name. She has long light blue hair with long sidelocks that are tied at the back of her head, blue eyes, and headgear that stick out on top of her head like horns.

Personality

Her goroawase (numerical wordplay) name is "Fuumii" (フーミィ).

History

The historical submarine was commissioned on June 1, 1944 and was completed on May 29, 1945. She never participated in any major battle in World War II during her assignments to three submarine divisions. Instead, most of I-203's involvement was post-war, participating in sea trials with US Navy submarines and crews through 1946 and later joining a party to rescue and salvage USS Current, suffering engine trouble along the way. Soon after entering caretaker status on February 13, 1946 to be studied by the Americans, she was disposed off as a target off Pearl Harbor on May 21, 1946 to prevent the Soviets from getting their hands on the advanced Japanese submarine technologies.
