fuzzy (splatoon)
Fuzzyness is a physical condition in the Splatoon series, it was introduced in the single player campaign of Splatoon 3. The condition are afflicted upon inklings, octolings and octarians when they come into contact with Fuzzy Ooze, a marble-patterned pink, blue, beige and yellow substance which makes them transform into strange mammalian/cephalopod hybrids.
In-game, if the player touches Fuzzy Ooze, then some brown, hairy, fur-like substance will begin to rapidly grow all over their body, pushing all of their clothes off through the sheer amount of the added fuzzy mass, until they're nothing more than a ball of fur that can't do much other than roll hopelessly around on the floor, all while completely losing their sense of self (at least for a few seconds until they respawn).
Fuzzyness can also take another less restrictive form, as seen with the standard enemies of the campaign. Developing shorter fur on their head-tentacles. With the fur on the outer part of their tentacles usually being a darker shade of brown, while the lighter undersides of their tentacles having light-brown or beige fur. The skin on their bodies become browner than usual, and their lips become purple / pink, resembling lipstick. Their eyes have black pupils and greenish-yellow irises, while their sclera resembles the non-furry parts of the Fuzzy Ooze. They also seem to have fondness for skin-tight leather and leopard print clothing.
Notes & trivia
- The combination of their darker skin, pink/purple lips and leopard print clothes appear to be based heavily on the aesthetics of gyarus.
- The color and texturing of the non-furry part of the Fuzzy Ooze resembles the inside of a jaw-breaker.
