fukae (kancolle)
The escort ship Fukae, the tenth of the Etorofu-class of coastal defense ships, as depicted in Kantai Collection.
Apperance
Fukae has short blue gradient hair with a short side ponytail tied to her right, sidelocks, and brown tsurime eyes. She wears a serafuku similar to Etorofu's: an elementary school serafuku with prominent buttons, with a hat bearing a blue ribbon , light blue neckerchief which is less wide than Etorofu's, white gloves, and blue pleated skirt. She differs from Etorofu by wearing a shirt with short sleeves, black kneehighs, and a single arm warmer covering her right arm.
Her rigging is similar to Etorofu's. It involves a pistol-like single-cannon turret held in her right hand. A mast and smokestack are carried on her back by straps like a backpack, while depth charge launchers are held like a purse from another strap. An anti-air gun is strapped to her right thigh, and more depth charges are strapped to her left.
Personality
As a coastal defense ship, her class is even smaller than destroyers, and as such, she is portrayed as an "elementary school student" character, even younger than the generally "middle school" appearances of the destroyers. Fukae has a very prideful and optimistic personality.
History
The historical IJN Fukae was launched in April 1943 and immediately set to convoy work after completion in July. She survived the War and was used for repatriation until 1947 when she was handed to the UK and scrapped.
Trivia
She was introduced into the game on May 15, 2018, remarkably the only new shipgirl introduced during the Spring 2018 Mini-event at the time.
She is named after Fukue Island (known as Fukae during WWII), the southernmost of the Gotou Islands in Nagasaki Prefecture which are part of the city of Gotou.
