f4f wildcat
United States Navy carrier fighter at the start of World War II, served with distinction in many of the early battles of the Pacific Theater. Later on being replaced by the F6F Hellcat, but General Motors continued producing the FM-1, identical to the F4F-4, and the improved FM-2.
