A prototype bullpup assault rifle chambered in .280 British intermediate cartridge, the EM-2 was seriously considered for adoption by the British Army in the 1950s but was abandoned after NATO mandated all its members' rifles use the 7.62mm cartridge, which was too powerful for the EM-2 platform to contain. The weapon features a fixed optical sight on the carry handle, wooden furniture, and a bulged handguard.
Its design eventually influenced the SA80 rifle.
In anime, the EM-2 is most often seen wielded by members of the Justice Task Force in Blue Archive.
