clip (weapon)
An item that groups ammunition into a convenient shape for reloading a firearm. At least there are three common types of clips:
- Stripper clip, consists of a simple strip of metal that holds multiple cartridges.
- Moon clip, used for revolvers.
- En bloc clip, the clip itself is also inserted into the weapon's internal magazine. Most notably used for the M1 Garand.
Not to be confused with a magazine. A magazine looks like a metal box. A clip looks like a row of cartridges held together by a metal strip.
