casing ejection
The act of ejecting shell casings from a firearm. Typically casings are ejected automatically from most modern self-loading weapons after a round is fired.
However, this also applies to the act of manually ejecting casingsーsuch as by cocking the slide of a semi-automatic handgun or pump action shotgun, as well as by opening the cylinder of a revolver.
