athena (mythology)
In Greek mythology, Athena is the goddess of wisdom, handicraft, and warfare. As well as the patron goddess of the city of Athens.
Birth directly from Zeus's head. She is often seen as one of the fairer members of the Greek pantheon, having played a direct role in the Illiad and the Odyssey, aiding Achaeans and Odysseus respectively. However, much like the rest of Greek gods, she is not without her own brand of pettiness, as she transformed Medusa into a monster with snake hair as punishment for having been raped by Poseidon in her temple, and a feud with Hera and Aphrodite would plant the seeds for the Trojan War.
