Zangief is a video game character created by Capcom. He is part of the Street Fighter series of fighting games, first starring in Street Fighter II.
Zangief is a Soviet/Russian wrestler nicknamed the "Red Cyclone" who is notable for his bombastic patriotism and obsession with muscle gain. He is highly muscular, with brownmohawk and thick chest hair, with numerous scar across his body. His wrestling attire consists of a simple red wrestling pants.
His signature fighting style is close-up and wrestler based, with devastating throws and powerful base moves. This makes him tough up close, though often has trouble with foes with projectiles. Zangief's fighting style would later be known in the fighting game community as "grappler", and he is considered the very first grappler in the fighting game history.
