A type of mochi that is finished over a grill after being prepared the traditional way.
When written in katakana, yakimochi (やきもち) can either mean cooked mochi or jealousy. As such, a game is sometimes played while grilling yakimochi: Two mochi are meant to represent two different people, and as they cook, the expansion of the mochi indicates who will make the first romantic move (example: post #5066574).
