A fictional character who appears in Lewis Carroll's 1871 fantasy novel Through the Looking-Glass, the sequel to Alice in Wonderland. In John Tenniel's original illustrations she is depicted with a crown resembling the head of a queen chess piece and skirt resembling the base of a chess piece.
In Tim Burton's film adaptation of Alice in Wonderland (2010 film) and sequel Through the Looking-Glass (2016) she is given the name Mirana of Marmoreal and is depicted as a beautiful young woman with whitish blonde hair, black eyebrows, and with black nail polish.
