A traffic barrel is a plastic barrel-shaped object usually orange or yellow in color with reflective markings that is used as a traffic barrier to channel traffic away or around obstacles and construction sites. Essentially a larger version of the traffic cone. For night work, there may be small flashing lights attached to the top of the barrels. They're typically filled with either water or sand. They're also called: traffic drum, construction barrel, and construction drum.
